エルヴィス･プレスリーのin the Ghetto

エルヴィス・プレスリーの、「Elvis Presley by Request Best 20」というCDを持っている。

このアルバムは、好きな曲が集まっていて、とても好きだ。
集めたレコードは、今ではもうお蔵入りだから、買いなおしたCDを聞いている。

小学校の頃に、TVで「ビバ・ラスベガス！」とかいうエルヴィス主演の映画を見て
ほえ～かっこいい～声が男前！と惚れこみ

一時期、レコード屋に通って、お小遣いで買いあさった。
あの頃は、TVでもブルーハワイとか、結構プレスリーの映画を頻繁にやってたので
見事に洗脳されたのだろう。

明るくポップで、でもバラードも素敵だし、何より声質が好きなのだ。
彼の雰囲気も、派手なようで地味。
明るいようで、はじけすぎてない。
高飛車なようで、テレ屋っぽい雰囲気があったり。
ほどほど感が素敵。

I just can't help believing　とか、軽めの曲もとても好きだけど

In the Ghettoを聞いたときは、
つぶやくように、語るように歌うんだけど、ストーリー性もあるからか
すごいなぁ、上手だなぁ、と子供ながらに感心した記憶がある。
内容自体は暗いんだけど、歌にストーリー性を持たせるって
結構、子供心にもアピール性があり、歌の持つ本質がここにありかなと思える。

CDかけ流しして聞いてて、ついつい口ずさむ。
彼の曲は、どれも体にしっくりくる。

お茶の時間に彼の声で包まれて、満足です。
